My game is based on the dérive I took one day. I ended up walking for about an hour and ended up all the way across Manhattan and walked straight towards the Hudson River. I used otter.ai to record all of my initial thoughts and plans. I kind of rambled and talked about some ideas I had for the game and had otter.ai transcribe it for me.
I crowdsourced my ideas for the stops along the way by asking my friends where they would most likely end up if they took a walk in the city, a park or coffee shop was a common answer. CharNG was used to remix poems about the Hudson River and the results were spoken by one of the fishermen by the river at the end of the game. n+7 was used to create the sign in front of the river. I used the anagram generator to come up with the name of the cafe, an anagram for black coffee. The cafe also only sells black coffee.
